Problem line

[link to this post]

Hi have used AAISP before and was impressed with the quality but needed more daytime allowance hence leaving BUT.

My previously stable line now has a really annoying intermittant problem which so far 2 ISPs have failed to get BT to fix (to be fair 2nd one passed it to BTW yesterday so what with the snow etc will give some leeway there).

Anyway if it doesn't get fixed and I bring the line back to AAISP do you reckon you can get it fixed?

What has happened is have had a few loss of syncs but most of the time traffic just stops dead for a few minutes before resuming. What is weird is they're claiming that the line has been connected with no loss of sync and I know there have been some as I changed routers a couple of time to fault find yet the DSLAM does not seem to have these in the logs.

I've been running Pingplotter for the last day or so earlier I uploaded a graph from it

http://www.all4.org/pingplot.png

So you can see regular packet loss for some reason.

Line stats have not really changed over the past 3 years and until now the line had a solid 8128 sync for all that time.

I have changed the router and 3 different filters, there is no internal wiring and everything is currently in the test socket.

Do you think this is something you can get fixed?

Cheers

I guess you have an overhead line? If you do try and get the Openreach tech to check the connections at the pole, assuming that your master socket is o.k.

Nope underground here, probably on a pole somewhere between here and the exchange.

Thats the trouble BTW don't accept an issue because their logs don't show any problems

In that case, have a look where the underground cable comes up. There will be a joint to connect to internal cable to the master. Its unlikely that the gell filled crimps are the problem but you never know. I suppose Voice is not affected?

Cant comes up in someones garden and is tucked away inside some rather robust trunking and there is a little box but its tucked under the eaves on the end wall of our house and we're built on to a hill so that side there is no hill so it's a huge drop and the little box has anti-tamper wire sealing it too.

No sadly voice is fine
