Aol price to increase from £19.99 to £25.00 for 2Mb service

[link to this post]

Been with Aol 10 years and paying £19.99 for a 2 Mb service, thought that was too much but now they are increasing it to £25 per month.
Can anyone suggest who I can do better with?

We are on a small exchange with no LLU; I presume that is why I am charged so much?

Can't you get the present 8 Meg service for £20.30 pm (£15.30 + £5 non-selected areas) in non-LLU areas?

Phone up Retentions and ask.

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 19 Meg WBC

That's a great idea, you can also visit http://myaolbroadband.co.uk/trio-redirect.html (My AOL Broadband) if you want to change your package if you don't want to call them. This allows you to get the cheaper and current 8 Meg package.

Well that's it, from May 11th it's goodbye to AOL after over 10 years!

I phoned up and the best they could offer was £5 off for 3 months then £25 per month.

I am switching to BT, my speed won't improve but I will be paying £13 per month rather than £25 plus I am getting my phone rental reduced by £4 per month and a free £25 Sainsburys voucher, plus free phone calls for 12 months!

How could I refuse? smile

Well done, but don't wait another 10 years before reviewing your broadband arrangements. wink

Aol are losing it.

They do no longer offer new customers a good package - the usage limits are a joke in this streaming video age!

Best thing you could do was to leave - best decision I ever made! Well done to you!
