How are you sending? By Webmail or SMTP?

Webmail send with attachments works fine from here and is received by recipient.

If SMTP: Whose SMTP? What is your email client?

I lost broadband completely one day last week, but I suspect this was a local problem.

I'm still on AOL 9.0. When did you get 9.6?

If I can find out how to update, I'll give it a try.

Go for 9.7 it's much better.

http://daol.aol.com/software/aoldesktop97

I use it for the US chat rooms - of which are being shut down in Jan.

AOL used to be the king, now it's a stinky pennyless pourper in the street days away from death.

Such a shame.

When it was 0845 we used to have weekend hangouts. I would literally be online from 8pm Friday until 8am Monday - non stop no sleep just chatting.

Then along came the beta testing for the 0800 numbers and then when launched along came the idiots.

I had my own home highway line for my AOL so I didn't mess up my dads access.

Then I was taken on as a Host and then a Guide.. and then that all went tits up.

But yes - it's a shame it died to the point it has. As part of the generation who can remember the world before mobiles and the internet it really will be the greatest thing i've seen internet wise in my lifetime.

ahhh the memories ! laugh

I remember I installed Aol version 4.0 on the computer's shop floor so we could search for rare titles online (I was working in a bookshop then). It was fun and I remember when they went 0800 free too (FRIACO it was called if I remember correctly).

Free rate Internet Access Call Origination I think it stood for.

I was one of the best testers for that - Oh the fun we had smile

I was a host during the 0845 saga and my first phone bill after 3 months of being on the volunteer team was over £2500. I bricked myself but true to their cause they paid it after I sent it to them as proof.

to the OP, I just tried it from the web and it worked fine.
