AOL GDPR email - valid?

[link to this post]

On Monday 21May, a friend received an email from mailto:AOLMemberServices(at)comms.aol.net asking him to confirm access to his email and that if this wasnít done, access would be terminated on 25 May

Usually AOL uses .com and clicking the link required username and password to be entered on a realistic AOL page but it didnít log on. Strange. There was nothing to confirm his access.

He has changed his password because I think it may have been a phishing email.

Has anyone else seen a similar email? He has emailed AOL support but no reply yet.

Thanks

No idea but ask him if he can still get in tomorrow - I guess he will know then.

Hi,

I would NEVER click on a link in an email from somewhere that I don't recognise. If I was him, I would change my password IMMDEDIATELY.

HTH,
