DAB Aerial

[link to this post]

Hi Filks,

I have bought a Pioneer X-CM42BTD Micro HiFi to replace my old DAB HiFi radio/CD. The old one would receive DAB Radio signals ok. The Pioneer will not receive any DAB signal even though it is in the same place. The supplied aerial is a length of black wire which plugs in to a TV type connector. Any suggests for a replacement indoor aerial which will give me a better reception?

Thanks,

Adam

Have you got it plugged in to a TV aerial socket? If not, it may be you could buy an indoor digital TV aerial with appropriate converter plug and use that. It sounds like your new hifi doesn't actually have an aerial - just the lead to allow you to plug it in to one.

EDIT : Just had a quick look at a picture of the back of your hifi. The aerial in socket should be happy with an indoor TV aerial being plugged directly into it. It would be better if you can use your proper TV aerial (if you have one) but an indoor one should work in a pinch.

EDIT 2: Or get DAB aerials like these

hi Ian,

Thanks for a quick reply.

I found this: http://www.audiobritain.co.uk/A_cheap_DIY_internal_D...

Am glad to report I've just finished making it and it is working a treat! Parts about a fiver in Maplins 😀

Regards,

Adam
