FYI: ThinkBB has analysis of modem performance on Be circuit

Noticed this ThinkBroadband (ie the site, not these forums) posting from yesterday....

But it's irrelevant as they don't include the Bebox.

It's hardly a test at all, unless I misunderstand how they performed it.

When I first read it, I thought it said "1,550 BE LLU phone lines" - that would have provided many samples of each router on varying line qualities. As it is, it seems they have used a single good quality line with around 30 db Attenuation and, presumably, just one sample of each router.

Just stating what a single sample of each model of router on a single 'solid' line syncs at without any indication of how reliable the connection was doesn't "say" much.

If only someone had some software that could get reports from lots of users....

All good points. From discussion related to BTW lines one knows that some routers are better on longer lines and worse on shorter ones, and vice versa (or noisy vs good quality etc).

If anybody wants my line stats since the day I joined BE (40950 data points), just PM me and ask,

It's laziness. On BT's "21"CN I had so many disconnections/hour I set up that monitoring to have some data to throw at them.Then I forgot to remove it so it's still running.

You could always draw a graph and post a jpeg to imageshack and I'll have a look...

I'll see what I can do.
It's only going to be useful if somebody can collect stats from a large number of users, like you suggested, but I thought I'd offer it as a start.
