This issue has only gotten worse since everyone that could has spoofed their mac addresses and been put onto another network vlan ,
On another note is this NEW core network complete, under construction, ?

Ta but I have a static address. When I signed back up with BE last Feb (2011), I had some serious issues for the first 4 or 5 days or so and this was apparently down to a bad IP address they issued me. I have no idea what was wrong with it but all the problems went away when they gave me a new one.

Probably going to head off for (hopefully) greener pastures once my cabinet goes optic by late March. I like BE but they're becoming much harder to justify staying with. frown

Tracing route to ae0.er01.cwwtf.bbc.co.uk [132.185.254.93]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 221 ms 99 ms 99 ms O2wirelessbox.lan [192.168.1.254]
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 * * * Request timed out.
4 * * * Request timed out.
5 * * * Request timed out.
6 * * * Request timed out.
7 * * * Request timed out.
8 23 ms 22 ms 22 ms ae0.er01.cwwtf.bbc.co.uk [132.185.254.93]
Trace complete.

I don't understand why all the "request timed out" hops.

Was Eclipse Home Option 1 & VM 2Mb
Now O2 standard

Because you're not a network tech.

The routers have better things to do than respond to our traceroute commands. They're either too busy, or have been told to not respond to us.

The fact the ping to the BBC site was 22ms means there is nothing wrong - unless you are also losing packets.

This is getting silly now. For nearly a month it's taken me ages to connect to the BBC website and iPlayer. Am sitting here now Monday 10am trying to watch something on iPlayer and it won't even connect to the programme page let alone the stream!

I'll put a call in to Be after work. I hope everyone else with issues is doing the same?

Had a phone call from Be today (around 10 minutes ago) about the few lost pings I've been having.

They certainly know that there is a problem, but must be having hell of a job finding it!

Pointless utterly pointless as it will do nothing, they will ask for tracerts ping results, that's all they have been doing since it started ,
It is probably out of their hands as well, maybe complain en mass to the organ grinder Chris Stenning may make a difference, but I'm inclined to think that it too would make no odds , logically the only thing is to leave and leave all the issues behind too

I received a call too ..

Not really sure of the point of the call though, he confirmed to me the 3 sites i had listed on the ticket were the ones I was having issues with ...

That was it ...

Strange..

I too have been co-oping with BE this evening with my two lines, one affected and one not, on the same exchange.
They have screenshots, tcpdumps, pings, traceroutes and all the information possible. (including remote access to a machine on the affected line) so they certainly know there is a problem.

A good link to test with (not that I listen!) is:
http://bbcdl3.rbsov.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/radio4/archer...

Works fine and full line speed on one of my lines but 14kB/sec on the other.
