Frequent 21CN backhaul switches?

So here is a typical BBQ for a Plusnet link I monitor for a friend.

I interpret the step changes in Minimum Latency as switching between 21CN nodes between Plusnet and my local exchange (Taunton)

Each switch forces a disconnect/reconnect at my Netgear DG834 router, which contributes to a low BRAS profile, and thus download speed.

Is my interpretation correct?
Should Plusnet be switching between 21CN nodes so often?
Should my DG834 router 'cope' with such cahnges? (Only 1 of my 3 DG834s actually reconnect)

I'd think the disconnections are the primary event. It's not unusual to see small changes to the minimum latency when reconnecting - that goes for any service (inc LLU).

We suspect it's down to load balancing either within the wholesale network or Plusnet.
Next time this happens do a tracert
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/tools/traceroute.html
and make a copy of the results. If it is load balancing the route should be different, probably!!
