Quality monitor + Super Hub problem?

[link to this post]

I was reading the Virgin Media community forums when I came across a staff replying stating:

"Please be aware that there is a known issue between the Superhub and thinkbroadband."

I was wondering if this was correct and if there are any details of the problem?

The thread with that reply in is here:

All I know of is

1. People having trouble finding the respond to ping setting (hidden on DMZ page)
2. The route they link to us on sometimes suffers congestion - and has been mentioned to Virgin Media before.

In terms of other problems, they are free to talk to us if there is a problem.

Thanks for the reply.

I would have to guess they are referring to the congestion issue, in relation to that thread as the poster was showing a working monitor. Although the mention of the Super Hub would be irrelevant in that case.

My overall impression is that VM are trying to discredit ping quality graphs as evidence of a problem, in a similar way they have done with speed test and other ping test sites.

You could always appky to join the samknows broadband monitor!

They supply a box that you plug into your router and it regularly does ping, speed tests etc and collates all the results.

Need to be accepted on the programme and be aware that the "white box" will use some of your bandwidth if you are on a capped service but it produces brilliant graphs.

A geek product of course!!!!!!

Who knows getting onto the Ofcom monitoring scheme might see congestion fixed in an area.
