VM 60Mb - BQM states I cannot setup due to dynamin IP

[link to this post]

Been using BQM for years but had my router powered off for a few days so I have been assigned a new IP.

When trying to setup BQM it states my IP is dynamic, which technically it is as all VM is dynamic but you keep it for a long time. Is there no way anymore to setup a VM BQM?

IP is 81.101.96.xxx and hasn't changed for weeks since powering on my router and before that hadn't changed for alomst 2 years.

It may be a dynamic IP, but I thought it was just a warning, rather than stopping you setting up a monitor

Lots of people with VM are running BQM

Sorry - you are right. I assumed you couldn't as it states it is unsupported.

Have you deleted the old monitor?

You don't need to - you can retain the old one but it does seem pretty redundantwink

BT Infinity 2 - IP profile 77 / 20 - super fast!
Previously BE Unlimited - 21,000 Download 1,200 Upload but then moved house - 6,500 Down, 1Mb/s up - gutted!
Ex <n>ildram , been to SKY MAX - 15,225 Download

Not a good idea if you're on a dynamic IP- if/when it's allocated to someone else it'll mean nothing to you, and because it's registered in the name of the old user the new user won't be able to see it, they won't be able to delete it and they won't be able to set up one of their own because the server sees it as already set up.

Old BQMs should always be deleted if your IP address changes for any reason.
