Acceptable packet loss check

[link to this post]

Hi guys!

New to the forum, I hope I am posting in the right forum. Would you be able to tell me if the following is an acceptable packet loss?

Thank you!

Unless you have something using your line all the time, I would say NO that isn't acceptable. But it might be all you can get with Virgin Media in your area. (VM has different issues around the country).

James BT Infinity 2 19/09/2012 - Sold 42/6 - Getting 49/8.5 - Sync 53 / 9.5 Mbps @ 470m approx
14 years of broadband (ntl: cable to BT FTTC) - Router: Asus RT-N66U - Modem: Huawei HG612 speedtest

Thank you for this, really useful. Nope nothing at all.

I have spoken to Virgin as I was certain it was effecting streaming video and gaming. They did admit that there was unusual packet loss, only after I said mind.

An engineer will be coming Saturday, fingers crossed. smile

Doesn't look too promising.

Have you tried getting any views from here at all?

Just to confirm that it has been cleared up, packet loss has pretty much vanished. Thanks for everyone's help.
