I think its VM centrally. I have a VM business service (not using cable) that is showing the same strange latency peak today on the BQM.

plusnet unlimited fibre - 2 Jun 14 - 470m - 80/20 - Summer/dry sync 55/9.4, Winter/wet sync 52/9.1

I don't think it is, I have 3 different servers pinging my connections... and I have 3-4 different connections being monitored across the UK.

Heres my correctly working rapidswitch monitor: http://f8luresig.mouselike.org/sig.png?/54158.png

and my Andrews and Arnold monitor: http://f8lure.mouselike.org/proxyfirebrick.asp?ID=54158

I would be very surprised if this is a Virgin issue, Though I do welcome anyone with an alternative connection to prove me wrong..

UPDATE: Sorry I just noticed that you have Plusnet in your sig.... So you say this isn't happening on that monitor?

As you can see my rapidswitch monitor seems ok.

My home 'fibre' VDSL with Plusnet:

A hosted server in the Rapidswitch data centre, Maidenhead:

A home broadband connection in the USA:
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share/d9539a44231...

and my Office Virgin Business connection (NOT CABLE)
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share/767a9fe70d4...

It might be between TBB and Virgin - rather than a Virgin fault - but its related to Virgin Media in some way.

Good luck - I assume something's broken on a weekend and it will take a few hours for the engineers to be paged and get it fixed smile

We tweeted some other vm examples earlier and checked the other eight largest providers and things were all normal.
