Bt Anywhere mobile charges

[link to this post]

I've just received my bill for my BT Anywhere mobile phone, and I was amazed to find that I had been charged 71 pence for a call to an 0800 number! The 0800 number in question was the BT Anywhere support number and, call me old fashioned, I thought that I would call it from the phone in question. The reason for the call was because the default pin number for the sim card, as given in the documentation, is wrong.

A call to the billing department got me nowhere!!

Thats strange usually mobile helpdesks are free to call. Ask for a level 1 manager when you call up billing and ask them to explain this. Seems very strange.

Not strage at all. Calls from mobile phones to 0800 numbers are charged.

There is usually a short code that you can dial on your mobile to get through to the help desk free
