I-Plate Fitting

[link to this post]

Taking up BT on their free offer, I ordered an I-plate. Being completely ignorant about wiring, I need someone to install it for me - would BT do it or do I need to get an independent electrician?

Nah it just sits on the front of your master socket, no magic trickery involved. It's made for those in society who are scared of wires.

I got myself a combined filter faceplate, don't need the I-plate then as it already disconected the bell wire.

Bt orignaly put one in, but it broke so I had to replace it with this one, yea it cost £10, but well worth it.

Adrian using Linux on his laptop and loves it.

If you know how to use a screwdriver you should be able to fit the i-plate.

Thanks - I will check it out.

P.S I just did and it was very helpful. Hope my wiring has the necessary 1 inch slack!

Unusual, but with some wiring combinations this may be possible.

Best thing to do is to test the connection speed at the test socket, this should be the best you can get, if its poor there, but better when you put socket all back together it suggests some very odd wiring.
