interleaving is enabled because of the noise/ disruption on the line,
and from your stats:
Connection time: 0 days, 00:43:13
FEC Events (Down/Up): 99241 / 11
CRC Events (Down/Up): 74 / 0

its doing quite a good job...

if each fec error were a hard crc error you would have an unusable line.

worth the usual checks for wiring too

Most isp's do enable interleave by default, not because of noise, i have seen plenty of stats from very short lines with very few or no errors those to are interleaved, as well as it being useful to some with bad quality lines, it all is a time /resource saver for some isp s and will also mean less customers able to get the full sync of the product advertised

2300 fec errors a minute, that is alot! crc, hec and ec are more than you would want as well.

what filter are you using ? the ones supplied with netgear routers are rubbish and i saw a similar amount of fec errors a minute. changed to another brand/type of filter and got hardly any fec errors... the adsl nation x1fe filter may fix that. if it does then ask for fastpath
