BT Infinity & Battlefield BC2

[link to this post]

It seems that BT's traffic shaping policy is blocking access to EA games server browser in BC2, come 6 a clock time and it does down, off peak and it works fine.

No it's not my connection as countless other people including my friend are having the same problem.

There in a thread on ocuk about this also, it's taking the [censored] that BT is blocking online gaming,

Also BT's traffic shaping is slowing down flash download to sub 1kbs

This is not on, I have phoned BT about this issue and they don't care.

That is a work-around, but is a ludicrous situation. Very few users, even avid gamers, will be using places like this. What are they supposed to do?

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - IDNet Home Starter Fibre. Live BQM.

not played BC2 for a while so could not say but do not recall issues on the Xbox Live version?? I recall an issue like this being raised either here or on their support forums? To the OP might be worth a look on their.

I haven't played BC2 in months so I can't comment however the Flash download speed is the same with myself its pathetically slow. I just assumed it was the Adobe servers didn't think it would be traffic shaping as I haven't noticed any other traffic speed decrease on any other protocols yet since upgrading to Infinity.

i agree unfortunatley its the "network team " that controll eucola and what she does to our BB had similar issues with Age of conan a couple of years ago, email him in charge got a call from the UK based team and then got their gamming guy a free copy and subscription to conan wich he played all day for 4 weeks to get to lvl 80 and then go to the raids and experience the massive increase in LAG from 100ms to 4000 plus ms due tot traffic managment within a week the network guys had sorted it. i.e AOC was not a dodgy p2p port and pretty please Mrs Euyocola do not throttle this port.

Also I think they are throttling news groups now, can't seem to get over 20mbs no matter what I try.
