Hi there guys, need some help here, I have been of late getting bad lag spikes playing Black ops, I know where the problem is, but I am not sure who is liable for it, the host is gameservers using 3rd party level 3 for routing I think, so who do I complain to here? should it be my isp or should it be the game host, here is a traceroute to the server I play on, as you can see everything is fine until it get to hop 11

your pinging to the home hub at 50-100ms to the home hub??? that really isn't gonna help.
do you have a tbb monitor set up?? you are obviously having routing issues. but the ping of 50.100 to the home hub is sign to me that there are issues with router, cable or NIC

1 50 ms 99 ms 99 ms BThomehub.home [192.168.1.254] There's your problem, over 50 ms just to your router; should be < 1 ms.
You must be connected by wireless. Connect by Ethernet.

thanks for the response guys, that isnt a problem the home hub 2 ping, its a known issue with this router, if I ping my rouuter directly I get 1ms, this is an issue with the thomson router within the home hub 2, its not actually reporting the true ping
anyone that does a traceroute with the home hub 2 will see a simalar or the same ping at the router

How curious,
just thought I'd try a quick tracert myself, just out of morbid interest. I appear to be hosting, no wonder this old lappy runs slow !
C:\Users\>****** tracert 173.199.77.68

Any one got any ideas why the tracert prompt no longer responds correctly ? (I would also appear to be one hop from the BBC, TBB, google ........ ????

From BE, interleaving on. Would probably be around 11/12 with interleaving off. I'm moving to Infinity in just over a week: it will be interesting to see how it changes.

thats around about my normal ping on this server mate, before i was getting pings spiking from 90 to 160 ms causing horrendous lag, I'm in Scotland so dont know if that would make much difference, plus I am on normal ADSL, not ADSL 2+ like yourself

I only put it in a [.code. No [.quote in sight for me when I go in and edit it.
But I'm happy to have suggestions for the best way to make things come out in fixed font, there isn't a convenient mechanism on the editor window, at least in my version. [.code seemed a fairly standard way to do it.

Sorry, got confused with the [.quote] I generated.
[.code] is good for layout but needs extra lines to overcome its scroll bar.
