BT Infinity Speed Estimates, router with SNMP

[link to this post]

I've just signed up to BT Infinity - the "up to" 40Mbps product. It estimated my downstream speed as 31.6Mbps. How accurate are the speed estimates for Infinity? Do they tend to under-estimate, like for ADSL2+, or are them more-or-less accurate?

Also, can anyone recommend a good router with SNMP?

Thanks

Andrew.

Yes, usually well underestimated.

As for the router, pass.

Might be worth keeping an eye on this thread, similar requirements.

I've used the Billion 7800N with FTTC (not Infinity)- it's a good router but I've not really used the SNMP side so can't comment.

Is SNMP support required for line stats?
If so you have a choice of three combined VDSL routers or you can get the stats from the Openreach modem wink
