FTTC Routing Issues

[link to this post]

Is anyone else having issues this afternoon with pages intermittently working?

I've reset my modem and router and it's no better.

Speedtests are fine, but I can't even get to sites like Facebook or BT's own forum?

Anyone else?

Yes, a mix of DNS failures/server not found/pages timing out. Seems to be no pattern to it. As usual the BT service status is blithely ignorant of the problem.

Appears there's routing issues due to issues in the midlands, primarily with theft.

It was on the service status pages at around 8:30 ... which is not " blithely ignorant of the problem.". Cables are stolen overnight and fibres damaged, technicians try to resolve the problem and once they know it is a cable issue get someone out to site ... they report back and it is up on the website. Tell me how they could do it any faster.

The cable theft was not the cause of the problem I mentioned, and as I posted they didn't report that problem for hours. No one expects instant results, but what goes a long way is a prompt acknowledgement that there is a problem.
