No referral based links please.

Feel free to repost but with the bare link to the hardware.

wow, deleted!

I only tried to help folk with the cheapest place I could find this product, hence the direct link I provided.

It will not happen again, as it seems policy has changed on this forum, I will not post here again!

Did you read why it was deleted?

From that, I gather you hoped to benefit from people clicking the referral link? Why haven't you just posted the link without a referral tag, if you mean what you say about trying to help people. It makes your protestation now seem rather hollow.

And the policy on referral links has not changed frown.

No referral based links has always been the policy.

Devolo 1409 dLAN 200 AV Wireless-N Starter Kit was the hardware and is on amazon.co.uk
£89.99

The difficulty with Amazon and some other sites is there use of referral to just track, and also as part of their affiliate schemes. Telling the two apart is difficult and with the current wave of spamming we are giving less leeway than usual.

Sorry it upsets, but the lure of referral fees is large, and without a harsh policy we would end up snowed under with links, and spammers posting very convincing stuff.

I don't work for Amazon, nor Devolo, nor have any financial links/contacts with anyone, I just wanted to let folk know that this product, first seen by me in PC advisor, was cheapest in the link I posted.

Sorry for trying to help without any financial rewards!

Well if the link came from PC ADvisor it would almost certainly have been a referral one.

However, MrSaffron has now explained further.
Edit - though the referral would have benefited PC Advisor, not you.

The link you posted probably looked like a referral link. Unlucky. The actual link at Amazon would look a bit better. It's a good price for the product actually.

But look at this just posted in the Sky forum http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zyxel-500Mbps-Slimline-Power...

Agree with you on everything you said, had no idea spamming was getting that bad, sorry!

Just trying to help other users, as I was getting desperate trying to connect PS3/Xbox/PC upstairs to a weak BT HomeHub 3 wirelessly, and the price I was quoted to get wired ethernet connected upstais was unreal, the Devolo solved it all cheaply.
