Routing issue

[link to this post]

I'm unable to reach www.rapidgator.net Anyone else on BT having issues? I just get connection timed out. Seems to be reachable for a friend on Sky, so I assume it's BT specific. Started yesterday.

Curiously I did briefly connect after dropping my session for a few minutes and presumably getting a new IP, although since I neglected to note it down I can't be sure. I assumed that had fixed the issue, but then checking again a few minutes later, it was back to connection timed out. My traceroute appears to be normal:

Given that tracert, and that my very similar one works, it doesn't look like an Infinity issue.
Could be something very odd around your hops 4/5/6.
(Looks as if you are closish to Birmingham and routed that way through the BT internal network? Guessing the '.bm.' is Birmingham.
I'm down south, but routed via Sheffield).

Could you have something on your local machine such as a firewall or other safety site blocker?
(I don't see why it should target that site, though).

I'm in Cannock, so yes Birmingham. Another reset of the HH and a new IP and it seems to be working again. I'm wondering whether Rapidgator has a list of banned IPs, and I've copped a couple of them. Although that doesn't explain why it would work very briefly on being handed a new one. All a bit odd.

Edit. No strange firewall stuff, just the HH3 and MSE AV.

Yes you're right. The site itself loads fine. Just a router on the way must be set to reject pings.
