[link to this post]

Bt are running cable miles from god knows where they are nearly into my village, So does anyone think it might be fibre for super fast BB? I hope so but I cant find any info anywhere.

My village is misterton in notts and the exchange is misterton as well, the exchange is SLMIS on samknows but it doesn't say anything on there either.

It may well just be a trunk cable between two exchanges. You really need to see what it is they are pulling in, fibre or copper.

Last winter BT ran fibre right through my village linking two exchanges (not mine!). In the process the sub-contractors 'damaged' the existing copper trunk so BT came and pulled new copper through the village. Progress, eh?

You look at what is being pulled in, or is on the big reel behind the wagon, or even ask one of the heavy mob doing the work.

A general rule of thumb, if the 'cable' has prominent yellow stripe/s on it, it will be fibre.

fibre tube is like a black hosepipe with a yellow stripe, large multicore cables are fatter, heavier and just black. No doubt there are exceptions.
