Can I use my Home Hub 5 as soon as it arrives?

[link to this post]

Hello,

Here's my situation. I have a Home Hub 4 and many devices connecting to it. On Friday, I expect to receive a Home Hub 5. On Tuesday, a BT engineer (hopefully proper Open Reach, as I see a lot of their vans around here) will activate Infinity 2, pop round and install the data extension kit with new cable.

I take it there's nothing to stop me (i.e. no property specific config on the device) simply swapping in the Home Hub 5 on Friday, and getting all our devices working with it?

Nothing at all smile.

Alternatively, don't bother altering all your devices. Simply change the SSID and wireless password of the HH5 to those of the HH4 and the devices should all just pick it up instead.

Far simpler and easier smile.
