Are there any better deals out there? Infinity2

[link to this post]

Im currently paying £22.35 for Infinity2 incl anytime calls

I'm ideally after a free HH5 although I'm told its nothing to write home about.
Have been offered £25/month but would have to pay for hub but would get free carriage.
Today I was told I could continue on my current price indefinitely after my contract expires. Sounds too good to be true but surprised I hadn't been told this previously. Can anyone reassure me pls that this would be the case? Or are there better deals to be had?

I don't have BT sport

Is that some deal for the first so many months? I would have thought you were paying £22.35 + £15.99, which would be highly relevant seeing as you are asking for better deals.

Sorry Robert I don't understand your question. The prices I'm paying and have been quoted exclude line rental (which I pay up front).

You've just answered it.

Most people associate inclusive calls with line rental, not with broadband. The presentation of the bundles on the BT website is unusual, but many would read your OP as Broadband + line + calls. As I did, so wanted to check.

Are you only looking for BT Retail deals then? Not any other ISP.

These contracts never expire; only the min. term does. However the ISP has the right to increase prices at any time by giving you due notice. If the rise is to your 'material disadvantage', usually above RPI, you are free to leave w/out charge.

Thank yousmile
Even under contract they increased the price of my anytime calls package. I was under the impression that the contract protected me against price rises but I know now that it is not the case. So it looks like there is no advantage in renewing my contract.

You don't 'renew' these contracts. You mean there is no advantage in staying with BT on your current package?

You have a point there. The ASA might agree with you.

The product you have is Infinity 2 with Anytime calls. End of! That package requires you to have line rental, which is subject to price rises. Not the same thing at all as Line rental plus a call package.

The T & Cs may make it clear, but the offer for sale implies what you say. I haven't time to check the T& Cs, as it has stopped raining so a chance to walk the dog in comfort.

I want to stay with BT but I don't see any point in taking out another contract considering I'm getting a good price with them IMO.
