BT Sainsbury Gift Card Confusion

[link to this post]

So take a look at this, Trying to claim a voucher for my mother who is on BT and just placed an order to upgrade to infinity.

On this page, take a look at the dates:

http://gyazo.com/5a00ba7b95ed87fef1facac8095b9a10

So I select after May 21st 2015 but then on the next page:

http://gyazo.com/c0833b0f5c05c2df0a82e4a016699628

Those dates are all 2014 and older!

Whats going in here?

I thought you could only order voucher after the service had gone live and the vouchers are also usually for those new to BT Broadband.

Sometimes they do vouchers that are applicable to upgrading customers, so seems likely the voucher sequence was just new customers at that time.

Ok but why give may 2015 dates on the first page and then on the claim page the dates are all from 2012-2014.. thats where we are confused.

Its almost like BT are saying "Sure you can have a Voucher, HA Only joking!"

I found the link for this on the BT website somewhere.. Ill see if I can find what page it was on

EDIT:

Found it,

https://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/broa...

Top right under the big blue check if you can get infinirty bar "Already got broadband? Click here to claim your online exclusive reward "

The "Already got broadband?" is referring to the fact that you previously ordered the service as a new customer and now are looking to claim the voucher.

You seem to be missing my point entirely!

LOOK at the dates please..

Lets say I am a new customer and I ordered on or before the 6th of May 2015 and I want to claim my reward.

I click that date, It then asks me if i was a new customer or if i upgraded etc, I select new customer and there is no issue..

But if I was not new but upgraded to Infinity and select that option it does not say i dont qualify it just lists some dates for me to pick when i upgraded that are all a year BEFORE the 1st date selected of on or before the 6th of may!!!!

See what I am getting at here or should I just ring bt?

Don't try doing that! You'll end up spitting feathers on top of being confused!

Have you tried the live chat on the BT website. That sometimes connects to someone who can help or you can always demand you get the supervisor to talk to

NEW to BT customers get a different set of forms to complete and do not have the same date set.

If you go to Ts & Cs you will find that existing customers who upgrade to Infinity only get a reward if they ordered between specific dates - those you are offered.

Try choosing another option and you will see the dates are not there.

Agreed, some options have no dates at all but give you just a form to fill in.

Best to chase BT_Care people if you believe the form is wrong.

I think you have taken the wording too literally and understanding too rigidly, some people are like that.

You can only claim a reward if you were promised one when ordering your package I'm afraid. I know the link says "click here to claim your reward", but this is not meant to be interpreted as "you have a reward, now click here to claim it".

You then eventually reach a section "Check you are eligible". If your date is not on the list and you can't proceed, then that is its way of telling you that you aren't eligible. I know you expect your date to be available to select and then for it to say "you are not eligible", after all is what checking is, but no.

If you expand the section Terms and Conditions it lists what offers were available on what dates and to whom.

I have to agree - a very poor set of web pages

I migrated to BT Infinity as a new customer from O2 Broadband in March 2011, which is definitely before 6th of May 2015. The forms allow me to claim a voucher - I wonder if I'll get one smile
