BT Infinity connectivity/routing problems

[link to this post]

I have been having problems with both connectivity loss and downloading files from a number of sites, on 3 different laptops in the house. Most recently, I have been trying to download and install the .Net framework from the Microsoft site but the download fails repeatedly.

I tried a tracert to live.com from 2 different laptops in the house and got very similar results, with alot of timeouts - see below. Does this look like a routing issue, and if so is there anything that can be done from this end to resolve it? I have tried power cycling as well as a full reset of the router, but the problems persist (and have done for a couple of weeks).

BT telephone support advised that it was likely due to a problem with my laptop, and that I probably also had too many devices connected to the router (2 laptops and 3 phones in this case), but clearly that wasn't terribly well informed feedback!

I have the BT Infinity service, and an OOKLA speed test indicates download speeds of 30Mbps, which looks fine. The router is a Home Hub3 - Type B.

Tracert results are below. Any ideas??

The Tracert doesn't necessarily prove anything - many devices don't respond to pings or respond at a very low priority.

Try download one of the test files from ThinkBroadband and see how stable/quick the download is (go for the 100MB file - that should be a reasonable test - assuming you don't have a download limit). Remember the speeds for the download will be in bytes rather than bits so should probably be a little over 3.5MB/s on a 30Mb/s line.
