are BT trials supposed to be kept secret?

[link to this post]

I have been invited to do a BT Trial.
I did not get much information about the trial just i participate and submit my responses at the end of the trial.

I have a number of questions I would like to ask but I cannot seem too contact the trials team as its an automated email.

I just wondered if im allowed to discuss the trail in forums and such .

Any one any experience of BT trials ? Comments welcome
Thanks
Millie

Hi

I have done several trials now, if you are accepted generally you will get a dedicated phone number and email for support etc.

Yes - or at least it was when I was involved in quite a few.

Hi Epyon,
i dont remember signing any thing . Just put my name down and filled in a survey of my knowledge skills and interests.
Then I got an email to say I was invited to participate. I was told to do a speed test and submit it and wait until the trial was over to fill out a survay

Ho StormForce
I did not get sent a dedicated email address or phone number.

Well i've only been on the BT mobile trial and was told not to say much about it.

But i'm sure posting a few speedtests wouldnt be so harmful

i would imagine saying anything about equipment or technology used would be a no-no

though only trials i know about are WTTC/LR-VDSL/G.Fast.

To what extent did you verify it is BT you are talking too. Were you asked in the form or at any other time for any information that you would expect them already to know?

usually you asked to not speak about it, but they wont do a legally binding NDA.

It depends, I suppose if you are a BT employee you could get sacked. If not, well there's no legally binding NDA so I think the worst case scenario would be if they found out you wouldn't be able to take part in any further trials.

Out of interest, if one is interested in taking part in BT trials how do they register their interest?

I recall many years ago, BT had a website where one could register interest and try different beta services like listening to 1571 messages online before they were made more widely available but that all went some time back..
