BT Infinity Speed upgrade: any action needed at my end?

[link to this post]

I have BT Infinity, my house is about 200M from the BT Cabinet, I have a 3rd party router (Asus RT-AC68U) and a BT Modem. My speed tests have consistently been around 37 Mb/sec and I had assumed that this was because of the 38Mb speed cap. On 23 June BT sent me an email saying that my "speed upgrade is now complete" with speeds of up to 52Mb. As it happens I was away for about a week when they sent the email and my modem and router were turned off.

On my return I turned on my modem and router, performed a speed test and still got 37Mb. Given the distance to the BT cabinet, I had expected an increase. I've power cycled both devices (modem on first, router on second) but with no change in the speed test. Do I have to make any changes on my end, given that I have a 3rd party router? I had expected not, as it's the modem that is making the connection. Is it likely that 37Mb is my maximum speed and is there any way of confirming this?

Is your modem an ECI or HG612? the HG612 is easily unlocked, giving access to full line stats.

Unfortunately it's an ECI modem (/r Rev B if that helps).

What does the dsl checker estimate for your line? www.dslchecker.bt.com

Use the Ginp Formula to determine if your vdsl2 connection is with or without G.INP.
Divide your IP Profile by your Sync Speed and the answer is 0.9669 (with) or 0.9679 (without)

Is that the BT Wholesale Performance Test? If not, please run it, ignoring the red instructions, then also ignore the first page of results. Click the Further diagnostics at the bottom, then copy and paste the full contents of the two text boxes of results.

We don't need the graphics or other spiel.

Not sure if I'll make much progress with them, given that the wholesale test says that the acceptable range for my line is 20Mbps - 53.17Mbps. I suspect that they will quote this back at me.

So you are sync'ed at the full 55Mbps, (at least - above 54,900). Are you connected wired or wireless to your router? You need to be wired for this purpose smile.
