What is on the horizon re Fibre

[link to this post]

Not been on here for ages....... Been quite happily a customer of BT for good number of years now with Fibre BB. So question is will there be any speed upgrades coming to those of us on VDSL. Think my line speed is somewhere between 39-50Mb download, nowhere near the max possible due to line length. Are there new products on the horizon for those of us on VDSL or is it a case of getting everyone onto Fibre first !

PS Had a holiday on the Isle of Harris this year and everyone who wants it has super fast Fibre to their house, crazy really when there is some folk on the outskirts of Auld Reekie still toiling with 2Mb ADSL !

Regards

MrG

Look in our news at www.thinkbroadband.com for G.fast a plan to roll-out around 10 million lines of it by 2020 It will be line length limited so if seeing drop offs in VDSL2 speeds may not help much in the initial deployment.

Other tweaks like
Vectoring
G.INP
LR-VDSL
may boost speeds further.
