Draytek vigor 130 firmware

[link to this post]

Hello,

I have received my BT infinity and got it working with the vigor 130 and a firewall of mine.

I see in the firmware that it is: 3.7.4BT

looking at: https://www.draytek.com/en/download/firmware/vigor130/

There is a newer version.

Apparently from 3.7.8.1

G.INP is supported

worth upgrading?

Not sure meny use that router. If you have both firmware files to install then give it a go and compare.

There isn't a new version for the Vigor 130 in the UK.

What you have installed is the latest BT / Open Reach approved firmware.

http://www.draytek.co.uk/information/our-technology/...

The firmware for UK models is here : http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/downloads

And the release notes on that page show the releases in the Uk actually went 3.7.8, 3.7.8.1, 3.7.8.2, 3.7.8.3 then 3.7.4BT ; so despite the odd numbering (perhaps it should have been 3.7.8.4 (BT), or 3.7 for BT?!

Having just checked my Vigor 130 it says 3.7.8.3_m4 so guess I should update to the SIN compliant version...!

Yes, the numbering of models and firmware has caused a lot of confusion.

Draytek produce the Vigor130 as a router for the rest of the world, but as a dedicated modem for the UK.

People get confused with user features and settings and which firmware to use.

The UK firmware up to 3.7.8.3_m4 put the modem in pass through mode.

In 3.7.4BT the modem is now set in full bridge mode.
