Similar to those used in Hospitals I think, No idea might be Huawei or someone? I've seen the name Ubiquiti come up when doing some searches for simuiar products.

I love this bit

I know BT is intent on world domination, but surely this is a bit blatant?!

The MAC Address prefix comes back as Arcadyan Corp when I check mine, but my ASUS Router believes that they are Netgear WNR3500L units - which they clearly aren't.

How do these actually connect to the main router?

As a minimum you connect the first disk using an ethernet cable to the main router. The subsequent 2 disks can either be allowed to establish their backhaul to the first disk by wifi or in my case I have them ethernet connected as well. Either will work well.

You need to stop using WiFi from your original router, ideally disable it to avoid interference, although I've reconfigured my Whole Home WiFi to use my original SSID and WPA2 key to avoid the need for re-configuring all of my devices.

It's early days so far, but it seems to do what it says on the tin - I now have a strong signal throughout my home and roaming is seamless, always putting me on the strongest AP as I move around.

Thanks for your quick reply.

Would you be able to connect them wirelessly and see what the speeds are like as you go around the house?

I've been trying the Orbi from NETGEAR and. have been very disappointed in its range in my home, hence why I'm looking at the BT system.

I won't be able to do that for a couple of days, but take a look at the following thread here which gives someone else's experience

Do keep us updated on your setup.

At the moment, I do like the Ubiquiti UniFi but haven't decided on which to buy...

Hi,
just posted my recent experience with these here if this is still an area of interest. These are all wireless except first Disc which needs a wired connection to the router.
