Line is gradually getting slower

[link to this post]

Hi,

I have noticed over the last 6 months my line is getting slower,

when I moved back to BT from talktalk (60meg sync) I got a lower 56meg on BT but was happy as BT could actually provide those speeds in peak times.

Now many months later my sync is 49meg approaching impacted range as my estimates show

High Low High Low
VDSL Range A (Clean) 61.3 44.1 17.6 11.9
VDSL Range B (Impacted) 49.3 27.5 14.7 6.7

Could this be down to the Smart hub provided by BT as TalkTalk used the Huawei router as its the same as the FTTC cab or will I have to move on for better speeds

Data rate:
11.20 kbps / 49.72 kbps
Maximum data rate:
11198 / 48225
Noise margin:
6.5 / 6.1
Line attenuation:
20.8

As other users move to FTTC/VDSL crosstalk increases and this results in a lowering of the maximum available speed.

For example when I was first connected in October 2016 I was the second on my cabinet and my maximum data rates were 35082 / 105896 meaning that I was able to connect at the full 20.00 Mbps / 79.99 Mbps. Nine months later there are many more users on my cab and cable and my maximum data rates have been slowly dropping and today are 27418 / 74239. Fortunately I had plenty of head room and have only just started to see my connection slowing a little and is now 20.00 Mbps / 75.61* Mbps. In your case you had little or no headroom and are therefore far more susceptible to the effects of cross-talk.

* Not sure why this is higher than my maximum data rate.

second what has been said, stats look fine to me, as takeup rises your speeds may go down.
