Smart Hub Firmware SG4B1000B316

[link to this post]

Just noticed my Smart Hub updated a couple of days ago to SG4B1000B316

Must alter something but someone more techsavvy than me will have to figure that out.

Not used my Smart Hub for ages due to way too many issues with the Modem / Router on my FTTP connection.
Plus its way too locked down and there was no place to report bugs or issues to.

I also hated the Reboot that always happened, granted it was only once a month, but that was still annoying.

But it would be interesting to see what has changed.

New font
Removal of band steering entirely (no menu even anymore)
Fixed some bugs e.g. It used to show 55kbps instead of Mbps.

All small changes.

I didn't know I had a band, let alone steer it.
Just as well they took it off then.

Band steering is a technology that detects whether or not the wireless client is dual-band capable, and if it is, it will push the client to connect to the less congested 5GHz network. It does this by actively blocking the client's attempts to associate with the 2.4GHz network.

I wonder if they have fixed the NaN (Not a Number) bug on the LAN / Network section where it displays how much you have down and uploaded.
On ours loads of devices were starting to display NaN instead of the actual value.

Basically the value got larger than what the firmware could handle, i.e. over 2.2 TB lol.

I reported this to BT over the phone and via Twitter several times over the last couple of firmware updates, so hopefully that's fixed.
