I did get an email from BT the other day (as shown from the screenshot) not sure if that has anything to do with it

WOW, that's pretty cool! Great for customers who are on the 40/10 and/or 55/10 package, but can get a faster speed!

I think there has been work at our fibre cabinet in the last week or so but I wouldn't have a clue if it was G.Fast work or not but yeh maybe that would make sense.

If the PCP has a pod with vents on the side of it, then it's a G.fast pod.

I'll have a look William when I next go past, I can't say I've noticed one. I've just had a look on Google so I know what I'm looking for. I'm very intrigued now if that's what it is.

I had that - it had been put in spam and I was dubious but after some checking decided it was legit.

My free boost was a doubling of the cloud storage allowance that I don't use...
