Likely their single band 2.4Ghz router. The SmartHub is dual band, so you might find the 5Ghz signal is a little on the weak-side and causing issues. When you follow my steps above, try out a new wifi channel, it will also make you split the bands.
Check out both the 2.4ghz network and the -5 network
I find the 5Ghz works better for me, but only when I have good range. The Sky Hub likely did not support 5Ghz at all ie would just be the other 2.4Ghz signal.
