HH5A Dynamic IP address

[link to this post]

Anyone know which Dynamic IP providers are supported by the HH5A?

HUH, don't you mean Dynamic DNS ?
The Dynamic IP is given to the Hub via the ISP.

Oh, ok, so its DDNS service, well I ended up setting my own one up and changes take 30 to 60 seconds to go live.

Mine doesn't use the Hub, I have a Linux Box that pings our Server and when the IP has changed it updated the DNS Record for it, hence the 30 to 60 second delay.

I believe the list is at Advanced Settings>>Broadband>>Dynamic DNS >> Service on the HH5

Ah, ok, not used the Smart Hub for ages, but I do recall seeing a similar section.

Wasn't too sure if it was a fixed set of provider setting like my Linksys WRT 3200 ACM, which was why I set my own DDNS up removing the need of the router for this.

Running DDclient on a Raspberry Pi using changeip.com works well enough for me.

Thanks, but that seems overkill when the HH5A does it natively

Well I set my own up due to not running a BT Hub, plus I already had a DHCP Server running here, so I added a bash script to run every 60 seconds that pings a webpage on our server, and when it sees that our IP has changed it updates the DNS record that I am using for the BQM.

So it "should" only be down for about 60 seconds.

Now I wouldn't bother if I wasn't already running a low power server here.

Unfortunately my mate has a HH5A so I really need someone to tell me which DDNS servers it supports, not some workaround
