Packet loss increasing

[link to this post]

I don't really pretend to understand the TBB graphs totally, but I do know that there shouldn't be any red in it. This is my current graph:

https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/...

My connection has been seeing more and more of these red blips over the last few weeks. Nothing different happening in the house connection wise or consumption wise. I haven't reconnected for a couple of weeks, but even when I did previously, there were still small amounts of red showing.

I'm on the Sandy exchange if anyone else is seeing this.

Do the line stats from the router show anything amiss ?

Apart from a colourful graph, how is this issue presenting itself to you as the user ?

I have also had these spikes pop up over the last couple of weeks shown below:
BQM 28-02-2018
BQM 12-03-2018

TBH I haven't noticed anything on the connection itself and going by the width of the spike it would of lasted a fair few mins.

There is buffering and a general slowdown. The internet seems to "stall" at times, not always at times of packet loss though. The line has been misbehaving in general recently, there are potentially congestion issues at the exchange too.

Should have added, I did see a lot of downstream FEC reports in the router for that specific day:

Parameters Total Current Quarter Previous Quarter Current Day Previous Day Since Sync

Downstream FEC 6573443 0 444907 30 444907 153128

FEC are corrected errors so unless you get hundreds clocking up in a second you are probably not seeing that as the issue

On the BQM the congestion if was that would usually look more like

https://www.thinkbroadband.com/assets/guides/faq-bqm...
or
https://www.thinkbroadband.com/assets/guides/faq-bqm...

Your graphs look more like you have something occasionally uploading (i.e. cloud backup of video on phone) or downloading and saturating your line, rather than a wider area congestion issue.

Congestion for a wide area tends to affect longer time periods and does not have such a sharp edge to it.
