Update to FTTC exchange list ?

[link to this post]

I've seen this link on the BT Openreach website but as it's a PDF file I'm not sure if it will get updated when I check it in future ?

In other words am I just reloading the same file or when I try to load it in future, would any changes to the FTTC exchange list get updated ?

I'm asking as I am not sure if pdf links get updated or not as I don't often click on them and have never saved a pdf link for this amount of time currently a few months !

Cheers.

p.s. my exchange isn't listed at the moment and I'm praying that BT Openreach add it to the FTTC trials frown

Ignore that link and use this instead:

http://www.openreach-communications.co.uk/superfast/...

We also aim to update our public list within 24 hours of each Openreach release, available at http://adsl24.co.uk/networkstatus/fttc/list/

Thanks

Cheers James smile

I've saved both links for future reference but I'm afraid that my exchange isn't on either the 'Exchanges coming soon' or 'Future exchanges' lists frown

It's puzzling to me as my exchange isn't small with over 14,000 customers ?

I'll just have to wait and hope.

My exchange Swadlincote is accepting orders now, but my cab and about 90% of the cabs on the exchange are not live.

Let's hope this will improve or there's not much point !

That list is quite comical.
Although our exchange is on the "coming soon" list, I wouldn't call Sept '11 "soon" (because I'd put money on it being delayed for the sixth time and pushed back into 2012) and I suspect it really should be on the future exchanges "firmer dates to be provided nearer the time" list (based on the fact I seriously doubt the sept '11 date is any more firm than the dates on the "future" list - given it's been sliding backward since the original date - Jan '11 I think - was published last autumn).

Of course, knowing BT's hopelessly optimistic schedule of dates, this might not be unique to our exchange and probably applies to every single one which hasn't yet been switched on!

I too am taking the dates of the "coming soon" list with a pinch of salt.
A similar situation occurred when my local exchange was upgraded to ADSL2+.
The completion dates just kept getting pushed back.
Judging by what other folk have posted, I would be pleasantly surprised if FTTC
arrives by Easter 2012 (expected date currently showing as Sept 2011).

It's not about knowing when the exchange will be enables but the *cab* My exchange has been enabled since the FTTC trial started, my cab was also on the initial list of cabs for the aera. I'm still waiting and the date for my cab has now been pushed back again till the end of 2011. All the other cabs around me are already enabled.

Don't waste time waiting for it IMO - there are still issues with BT and they way they run there backend platforms - there is no (as I know it yet) 10Gb backhaul options from cabs yet, and there is still an initial port limit of either 100, 150, 200, 250 pairs and most default cab builds support a max of 288 ports anyway. - There are already cases of rejected orders due to lack of ports, and again there is no clear path (that I know of) for upgrading cabs at this time during the role out.

Anyone know why there's no interest in bringing super-fast broadband to Cumbria?
