Cannot check IP Profile for my line

I have been trying for a few weeks to find out my IP profile using the BT Speed Tester
http://www.speedtester.bt.com/

However, after the best effort test, it says "Sending results to the server", takes a moment, and then says that there is an error - "The Performance Tester is currently unable to run a speed test for your broadband connection. Please try again shortly, however if this problem persists, raise the issue with your service provider." I have similar results using the Further Diagnostics on the beta BT Wholesale Speed Tester. I have tried using different internet browsers and different computers on the network - same result.

Also I found out today about the BRAS info checker on the BE Usergroup site, this also comes up with an error:

The Service ID is: **************
This is a 20CN line.
Looks like BT refused to test, possibly because a speed test or BRAS check has been run recently which prevents this tool from working. Try again in a few hours.
Debug: BT Transient Failure, resubmit the test"

Any ideas? :/

Currently with TalkTalk, transferring to PlusNet next week!

If you are on a TalkTalk LLU service then the BRAS checker will not work because you are not on a BT Wholesale service

My ISP and land line are with O2, I've had this same problem for months! Both BT and BE testers give the same errors as you are reporting here. Don't know if there is another way of getting the IP profile, perhaps someone will eventually let us know how!
Edit: MrSaffron has just answered why, whilst I was typing my post!

I'm on the BT Wholesale service, my exchange does not have LLU enabled...

Currently with TalkTalk, transferring to PlusNet next week!

Is your upstream connection speed 448Kbps? If not what is it?

Had the same issue when I was with Enta on a 20 cn market one exchange. No one would take it seriously - even my own ISP told me it wasnt for them to tell BT how to run thier site when I actedon the advice to inform my isp if the issue persisted.

I was so pleased when Surfwise became available on my exchange which would allow me to distance myself a little from BT Group... Now if I could just get Openjoke to work out why my line has been randomly disconnecting during the 11 years I have had broadband...........

Good luck in getting this sorted.. I think you are going to need it.

Also, (assuming you are on an O2 LLU product), you don't have an IP Profile anyway. That is only present on BT Wholesale broadband connections.

The top speed on O2 LLU should be around 84% of sync speed. Below 80% you should never experience, unless throttling is in force on your connection.

Thank you RobertoS, that clarifies my query. As for my internet connection I rarely have any problems and when I do they donít last for long and are sorted.
