Tie pair capacity issue

[link to this post]

Does anyone have experience of being told that there is a "tie pair capacity" issue at their exchange?

We should have had a second broadband line enabled but it didn't happen, when we contacted BT we were told it was a tie pair capacity problem at the exchange and they were trying to sort it.

Am I right in thinking that this may be a long job?!

There could be multiple faulty pairs which just need replacing...

Tie pairs at the exchange are used to link unbundled CP's equipment to the distribution frame.
It could be as simple as running an extra cable, or it could mean additional work if the trunking is full

Thanks for everyone's reply.

Luckily the exchange doesnt appear on the list of exchanges with capacity issues so hopefully thats a good thing.

BT Business are supposed to be ringing me with an update today, so fingers crossed.
