The engineer hooked up my cabinet to copper two months ago - still nothing doing.
I have tried all possible lines of enquiry at BT, Openreach and Fastershire = all to no avail, I just get palmed off with a generic "we are doing well" response.
Why is it taking so long?
Cabinet 2 Bodenham
There are other things that need to be done to enable a cab that you don't see on the ground. I believe there are cases where it can take in excess of 6 months from when the visible work is done to when it is released.
It is frustrating waiting. I came here today to post the same question as it's exactly three months since I saw the new cabinet built in my street. It taunts me with it's promise of speed each time I walk past. I'm on Trumpington exchange cabinet 7. Codelook says it will be live by August so, like you, hopefully not long now. Let's look on the bright side and assume that is by the begining of August rather than the end of August. In this case the exchange has been fibre enabled for two years and there are several other cabinets activated. Still see a lot of openreach activity in the area as they are doing more cabinets so I expect things still need hooking up and it's probably easier to do it one batch.
https://www.telecom-tariffs.co.uk/codelook.htm Saw it posted here sometime ago. I put in my postcode and press look up by postcode which brings up the correct cabinet details and says FTTC being Connected, live due by August 2016.
