Can anyone help?

[link to this post]

Hi,

I'm after a little advise please.

I'm an original Bulldog customer and all has been fine for the past three or so years no problems what so ever.

On Sunday my phone line went down, there was a lot of noise on the line sounded like a fax machine, I now have my phone back but my internet speeds are shocking, slower than dialup.

My router is syncing up at 3-4mb which is good as I live quite far from the exchange but downloading or using the internet is terrible.

I've rang customer support, who went through their script without listening to or understanding me at all, went a little something like this:

"There will be a socket, remove the front, Yes I know I'm already plugged into it, and you will see a connection, Yes I know, This is the master socket, I know I'm already plugged into it, yes make sure you try the master socket first very important"

Does anyone have any ideas how to possibly solve it?

Thanks in advance.

Post your line stats and your router make/model. Are you using wireless or wired? Also post your line stats when connected to the test socket, assuming you have an modern style master BT socket on the wall.

It will be in two parts, the front part comes off with the two screws, to reveal a socket behind, the test socket:

Get the stats from your router when connected to the test socket, and when connected normally.

OR

Do a return to donor to get your BT line back, and sign up with an ISP that is still in real business? I read that O2 have some good offers on if you use a cashback site.
