Negative film scanner recommendations

[link to this post]

As the title says can anyone point me in the right direction?

All I want it for is to get the families old box 'o' negatives scanned to see just what we have. Must be reasonable quality but as most of the negs are from point and click 126 cameras of the 60's and 70's they wont be up to much anyway with some 35mm negs too.

Quite happy to trawl eBay and buy used.

Kel.

Canon and Epson do some quite cheap, but good, scanners with transparency adaptors. Look for one that will do more than 1 negative/slide at a time or you will be scanning forever.

You probably need two ... one which does quick but not very good quality to allow you to go though all of teh negatives and then a higher quality one, such as a Canon 7000 series with full backlight and 4800 dpi (or better) but a lot slower to scan those you wish to have in higher quality.

There are some which effectively take a picture of the negative and create a JPG - they are relatively fast.
