I can remember seeing them when they first came out, I thought it was the coolest thing I ever saw.

My son is very much in to his photography, any (polite) comments on his Flickr site most welcome.

He has a really good eye for subject matter and composition. If they are all his own work, he has the makings of a pro. You should encourage him to join a photographic society.

Thank you Mick, yes, all his own work. He has just saved up and bought himself an Olympus Trip 35, hoping to get all 'Old Skool' on his photography.

He is hoping to do photography as a A level ......

Thanks again.

I'm hoping to get to at least one of her displays and get some more pictures, I've a feeling it'll be her last year flying frown

Assorted aircraft (and other transport) piccies on the link in my sig (some good imo, some less so), including several of XH558 at Coventry about 18 months ago.

Since I work around the back of Farnborough Airport, and only live a few miles away from it, I'm hoping to get to see her there smile

The primary cause of the damage has been determined to be ingestion of silica gel desiccant bags.

It does not say where they came from ... Where they left in place when the engine covers were removed? Or picked up as FOD? Someone will be for the high jump!

Given that an engine should be able to survive a bird ingestion, how big were the bags of silica gel.

think sacks not bags and they are left in the air intakes to prevent moisture build up when she is in hanger 3. No one for the high jump, these things happen, nothing to see here, time to move on.
