Amateurs Selling Photos

I was having a clearout the other day and found some old magazines to which I had contributed about 20 years ago. They paid for a few photos of Hong Kong too, surprisingly the most appropriate not the best quality.

At the risk of offending the pros (I can't match anywhere near the ones I see here) have any amateurs sold a photo in recent times?

Sold a pic to a German tourist guide to Southern England about three years ago. Got a decent price for it too (made them pay in advance). The one they chose was not the best, IMO.
