Farnborough Airshow

[link to this post]

Working so close to Farnborough airport has its advantages, one of these being that I get a good seat to see the air display. Here are some photos from today - I hope to upload more over the next few days and from the main show on Saturday smile
As always, comments and criticisms are welcome smile

Very nice, lets hope the weather stays OK, then plenty more piccies to come.

I grew up on the Hog's Back, we used to watch the Air Show on the telly, listening to Raymond Baxter's commentary, and then would run outside to watch, as many of the planes would circle close by the house, some right over it. Exciting stuff .... smile

Stupid weather - I'm sure it's a sign from somewhere that I should upgrade to one of these smile

You should have gone for a Pentax K20D or one of the newer models. As well as having Image stabilisation in the body - so you pay for it once rather than with every lens; it is water resistant and can easily be used in the weather we are having at present. I know of people that have tried a K20D with 300mmDA* lens in their shower with no problems! I have used mine standing in crashing waves and in the rain whilst I watched the Nikon & Canon owners running for cover

The thing is, I like my Canon and have too many accessories for it, to change now. IS makes no difference for shooting aircraft*, it's just the low light issues and my current telephoto lens only being an F/4-F/5.6 (one of the cheaper tele lenses)...

*How long before I get MI5 knocking on my door for that term tongue

Saw them over my place too - would of had the camera out on them if I had known they'd be coming my way smile
Did you hear the tornados screeching around too earlier? I'd love to have that job laugh
