Concord picture

[link to this post]

I'm looking for a decent image of Concord... God knows there are plenty available on the web but I've got some specific requirements and Google is not being my friend mad

First- it must be portrait mode (that's the bit that's stumping me!), around A4 ratio.

Second- it'll be printed somewhat larger than A3 on semi-gloss photo paper so a decent resolution is a must, say ~2,000 pixels wide (at least- no complaints if it's more).

A decent composition with the aircraft filling most of the frame is a given of course, but I don't mind if its axis isn't exactly parallel to the paper edge.

The sort of thing I had in mind would be taken in flight from above, somewhat in front and perhaps a bit to one side, preferably with a reasonably interesting view of the ground as background (cloudscapes and ocean are boring from above).

Anyone got any ideas?

You might be able to crop this.

'Sir, please,' she said ... 'Will you not share your wisdom with us?'
'I have no wisdom,' he told her.
'Your experiences, then?'
'They have been trivial, uninteresting, and full of error.'

There's also this. You will need to register with the site to get a hi-res version. Here is the hi-res image url. I'm not sure if it will be good enough for your purposes.

Also this. You might be able to contact the owners of the images for even higher-res versions.

'I have no wisdom,' he told her.

I like the picture... and it makes a liar out of me about cloudscapes being boring from above tongue

But it really calls for landscape presentation- I've downloaded it and I'll note it as a "possible", thanks.

There is also a famous tele-photo image of Concorde transiting the sun but I'm having difficulty finding it.

'Sir, please,' she said ... 'Will you not share your wisdom with us?'
'I have no wisdom,' he told her.
'Your experiences, then?'
'They have been trivial, uninteresting, and full of error.'

It's a bit too much of a silhouette... but it (along with the other examples) shows that getting a good picture of an aircraft in portrait is not easy, even when it's a long thin one like Concord!

I know I'm being picky, but it'll be going on display in a sort of set, and has to fit with the overall appearance.

You could contact BA customer relations and see if they can help.

It might help (or not tongue) if I say what I'm trying to do...

I've got images of the Spinnaker tower (in Portsmouth), HMS Warrior (ditto), both taken by myself and a Saturn V launch just before it cleared the tower, courtesy of NASA. Concord would make a nice "land, sea, air and space" set smile

These? High-res images are fairly cheap.
