Video editing and rendering with Sony Vegas 11

[link to this post]

I've edited a bunch if videos into a single clip but when I export the project in a video format that matches the 720x576 frame size, I end up with an 11GB file for a video that's just 9 mins long. When I check the video file's properties it's bitrate is something crazy like 36Mb/s, hence the huge file. There's no way that I can see of controlling the rendered output bittate so I was wondering if anyone could advise or help?

I wouldn't expect the bitrate to be any more than around 2 Mb/s for the frame size do I'm not sure why the Sony editing software sets it so ridiculously high.

Look under the program's settings for output type, quality etc.

Have you sorted the problem? Vegas don't set the bitrate so high normally. I presume you rendering it in Mpeg2 via the mainconcept codec? check the settings are set to DVD pal on the output.

i just rendered some stuff from my old Camcorder and made it ten minutes long, i end up with a file of 500MB and it comes out at around 6Mb/s
