Ufo!

[link to this post]

I was taking some dawn snaps very early this morning. 99% of them turned out completely naff (grainy).

One however, had me wondering. The moon is on the right, as the sun comes up on the left and there's a star, but what on earth (not on earth, obviously) is the round thing at the top of the pic?

Agreed, a touch of lens flare, and the star is definitely Jupiter, in exactly the right position - and checked with my Starry Night Pro program.

Flare, unless as in all good disaster movies you are, as discoverer of this rogue plant hurtling towards us, now sitting in a secret government bunker awaiting transportation to a distant planet on the ark ships, whilst the rest of us face impending doom.

I suspected that might be the response.

As an aside, still a darned good book and film - even though dated in some respects. I remember going to see the film as a teenager when it first came out.
