Converting mp4 for playing on a DVD player

[link to this post]

I wanted to be able to play mp4 files using our DVD player. Clearly then I needed to process them into a suitable format. Eventually I found WinX DVD Author which, despite its quirkiness has eventually got the job done and I now have a DVD that I can use.

Just wondering what other - free -software is around that would also do the jiob?

Also is there any free software that'll do it for webm files?

Software wise i think handbrake works ok

i usually use convertxtodvd

and that converts nearly any file to vob and burns it onto a dvd.

Have you tired burning them to a standard ISO data DVD. Many players will play mp4 files without conversion but can be picky about file name lengths, use of non alpha and numeric characters and disk formats. Your DVD manual should have instructions if it supports it.
